The Border
We made it to the Minnesota border at 11:40 pm Saturday night. 412 miles in 34 hours and 40 minutes. I have to say it was the most physically and mentally demanding thing I have ever even attempted. I doubt I will ever do it again (who knows though…I have some crazy and persuading friends), but I am completely glad I did it. I’ve always enjoyed pushing my physical and mental...

Tailwind
Now in Faulkton. About 40 miles in today and 267 total miles in the last 24 hours. We’re wiped, but still moving along really well. We’ve got a solid tailwind giving us a much welcomed push.

Rain Delay
We woke up from our nap to rain. We tried to get out in a lull, but didn’t quite make it before it started to come down. Word is it will be gone here shortly so we’re going to wait it out. Riding in the rain does not sound appealing at all at this point. Matt Reich

Long Night
We finally made it to Gettysburg at 6:30 am CST. The second half of the night was difficult. Between the rain delays and bike change (Scott) it was a long night. Definitely an experience I won’t soon forget. Now it’s time for some food and a nap. Matt Reich

Night Ride
We’ve made it too Eagle Butte. The night riding has been a lot more pleasant than I thought it would be. I think we’ll be able to cut out a pretty big chunk of the mileage tonight in this nice cool weather. Hopefully we can crack the halfway point tonight and make it to Gettysburg…you know…”where the battle wasn’t” Matt Reich

Gut Check 212
And we’re heading out west for the 2012 Gut Check. We’ll be leaving at noon tomorrow afternoon from the Wyoming border and riding 412 miles across the state of South Dakota in less than 48 hours. We’ll be posting updates here so check back to see our progress. Matt Reich
